I really connected with these thoughts by Donald Taylor. Thanks to Steve Wheeler for sharing on Twitter. I have been saying this for the last two years at my school. In fact I stepped away from the eLearning Coordinator’s role because I believed the role had become redundant. To continue to build on what had been achieved via the eLearning role the school needed to expand the Teaching and Learning Coordinator’s role to focus on innovation in learning rather than innovation using technology. Unfortunately this did not happen and while there are many great things happening across the school we may have missed a great opportunity.
